Becoming an Agile Enterprise
In 20 years, the concept of agility has experienced a dazzling success: initially, an obscure software development method, agile is now pushing the door of the Comex.
But what is really an agile company? What are its characteristics? How does one become an agile company?
In this conference, Ludovic Cinquin, CEO and co-founder of OCTO, will illustrate the dimensions of the agile enterprise by drawing on 20 years of experiments that have enabled OCTO to become a reference in agility on the French market.

Comment raconter simplement des projets complexes ?
Have you ever tried to get someone to buy into a project they don't understand?
Because it's impossible, we often prefer to stay between experts. This allows us to move faster without worrying about jargon. And as a bonus, it's a good way to build credibility while letting newcomers know they still have a ways to go!
But that's where expertise becomes a prison from which it's hard to escape. Because one day, you'll have an idea that's different from the others, a project that's more ambitious than usual, and you'll have to bring on board people who don't have your expertise. And if they don't understand you: they won't follow you, they won't fund you, and your project will never see the light of day.
For an expert, defending the cause of his or her ideas requires the ability to tell complex things in a simple way. And that doesn't come naturally because it's not at all what we learn in school.
We share with you 3 keys to success that will help you, from now on, to defend the cause of your ideas, even complex ones!

The quantum computer: a revolution?
Quantum computing is all the rage! Google has proclaimed to have achieved quantum supremacy. IBM and Amazon are touting their quantum cloud. China announces a quantum internet network. Our president has just announced a great French quantum plan. And every new week brings a spectacular announcement.
In this conference, I will help you to understand already how this strange computer works, and where it gets its strength. I will explain the concepts at work, the key technologies, and the possible applications. But I will also tell you about the obstacles that are blocking progress for the moment. In short, I will help you decide whether or not we are really at the dawn of a quantum revolution...

Fairness in Hiring
The type of society we will inhabit decades from now will be determined by today's initiatives to create fair and equitable access to opportunity. As leaders, it is incumbent upon us to understand what it means to create fairness in how we hire and compensate our people. In this keynote, we'll deconstruct the many things we mean when we say something feels "fair" to build a vocabulary around fairness. We'll leverage games to build a deeper conceptual understanding, and dive deep into the hiring process to find specific points of leverage.

The Most Annoying Lesson to Learn?
The lessons we are forced to learn as parents make us better managers, leaders, and teammates. Parenting is stressful, difficult, and changes the very essence of your being. It gives you high highs and low lows. It forces individuals to reconcile their personality and approaches with these new tiny humans they’ve brought in to the world. Parents are challenged to think differently and leave their comfort zone in ways they could have never imagined. When I became a parent, I had read the books and done the research and yet still, I was completely unprepared for the challenges that awaited me. Learn about how these new perspectives impact the way you think about teamwork, conflict, compromise, and communication on engineering teams.

Hypercube: feedback on an in-house framework
Since March 2020, Bpifrance Digital Tech has delivered 7 platforms (including the State Guaranteed Loans platform) and 4 online banks
Given the growth that was imposed on us, we built these platforms on an in-house base: Hypercube.
Since the beginning, we've been wondering what Hypercube is: a framework? a library? a software package-like platform? And honestly, we haven't really found the answer.
We would like to think about it with you, and who knows, find use cases outside Bpifrance!

The Unicorn Project, and The Structure and Dynamics of Great Organizations
"I’ve spent 22 years studying high-performing technology organizations. In The Unicorn Project, I attempt to frame what I’ve learned studying technology leaders adopting DevOps principles and patterns in large, complex organizations, often having to fight deeply entrenched orthodoxies. And yet, despite huge obstacles, they create incredibly effective and innovative teams that create beacons of greatness that inspire us all.
In my previous books, I’ve focused on principles and practices (e.g., Three Ways, Four Types of Work). However, I’ve always wanted to describe the spectrum of cultural, experiential and value decisions we make that either enable greatness, or create chronic suffering and underperformance. They are currently as follows:
• The First Ideal — Locality and Simplicity
• The Second Ideal — Focus, Flow and Joy
• The Third Ideal — Improvement of Daily Work
• The Fourth Ideal — Psychological Safety
• The Fifth Ideal — Customer Focus
In this talk, I’ll share with you my goals and aspirations for The Unicorn Project, describe in detail the Five Ideals, along with my favorite case studies of both ideal and non-ideal, and why I believe more than ever that DevOps will be one of the most potent economic forces for decades to come."
